Mt Albert Grammar Athletics Sprint Coach Steve Erkkila has also been selected to be the sprint coach of the NZ Pacific Games team along with his daughter Jenna Erkkila, Andrea Koenen, Rachel Peters all part the Mt Albert Grammar Sprinting Academy

Three Mount Albert Grammar Students have been selected to represent New Zealand at the Pacific Games to be held in Melbourne. Over 30 countries from throughout the Pacific Basin region including China, USA and South Africa will be competing. The team will be housed at the Games Village from November 26 to December 4, 2005. 

The girls selected are:

Andrea Koenen - Grade 16, 200m, 200m hurdles, high jump, 4 x 100m relay, long jump relay 
Jenna Erkkila - Grade 16, 100m, long jump, triple jump, 4 x 100m relay, long jump relay
Rachel Peeters - Grade 14, 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m relay, long jump relay

Mt Albert Grammar Athletics Sprint Coach Steve Erkkila (pictured) has also been selected to be the sprint coach of the NZ Pacific Games team.

As a Dad so proud to be able to train my youngest daughter to win the NZ Secondary School Junior 200m and place second in the 100m at the age of 14yrs in the 14-15yr old age group. Jenna also broke the Auckland 300m Sprints record in the same year.

The following year was equally delighted to train again the NZ Secondary Schools 200m Junior Champion Livvy Wilson.
